Rainbows All Around July 31, 2003 at 2:43 am

Some men want to kill me
Take me down for being me
And I feel rainbows all around
And I sense brotherly love
But they hate me for who I am
And some even want to kill me

I don’t want to die
When I’ve finally got it right
So I’ll keep moving
Without paranoid delusion
Because some men want to kill me
And they say so out loud

I’d rather take them down first
And they will beg forgiveness
How can they hate me for who I am?
Why would they want to take me down
When God does his work through me?

Because of money
Because of power
Because of inbred hate and lonliness
Because of gay money
Because of gay power

When the mission bells ring
And the sailboats are tethered
Will you promise my love
To stay with me forever?
And should we die before we wake
Will you help me their souls to take?

It’s not enough to go around the block
Go around the world a few times
You must be strong enough and wise enough
To share what you know
With the right people

They will never take us down
We’ll take them down instead
Because we are strong enough
And wise enough
To share what we know
With the right people

Some men want to kill me
Take me down for being me
And I feel rainbows all around
And I sense brotherly love
But they hate me for who I am
And some even want to kill me

You Came Into My Life April 2, 2000 at 3:39 am

You came into my life
Carefree, captivated,
Enamored completely;
Quicker than Mercury,
Earth changed;

From You and I, to We.

You came into my life.
Faithfully You stayed.
I kiss the ground You walk upon
And baptize You with light.

And so You’re going away…
How can years last only seconds?
How can trees grow old overnight
and lose their leaves instantly?
How can you stay away so long?
How can you leave me now?

So, You are back with me again,
As the story goes…

Stay with me and let’s show
Others how to live together,
Forever;
How to love,
Forever,
Live as one for the other,
And perhaps die together.

The love is there April 30, 1998 at 2:39 am

So you chose to follow me?
See through eyes so brown
Am iI the substitute
for your best hero who’s
a cartoon character?

Why talk! I don’t have to say
anything to you,
the greatest love
I ever had.
And I hope I’m the greats you have had.

The love is there
It holds us together
The love is there
It was there from the start.
The love is there
Until death do us part

Like bleeding hearts
we talk about how blessed
we are,
That we’re lucky in love,
Like you cam from the stars.

I don’t want to go to sleep
I’m afraid I won’t wake up.
And if I do, you may not be here.
or will I go before you?

For death is the only end
That would keep us apart

’cause the love is there
It holds us together,
the love is ther,
It was there from the start,
The love is there
Until death do us part.

Starling October 27, 1997 at 2:36 am

A starling flew in my window
I chased it out the door
And the Jewish boy swore
We’ll have violence and war
…tomorrow, starling

Starling on the brittle branch
Hip, hop, now turn
Gobble down your worm
What today shall I learn?
…or tomorrow, starling?

He landed on my chest, his claws ripped my skin
I knew that I was chosen, to take him deep with
He clenched onto my chest, placed his head upon my mouth
No matter what news he brings, a fires burns for him in my house

A mere black bird to others, he is my steadfast prophet
he forewarns of everything, he knows what will happen
His black silhouette slices the sky, as he steals from every nest
The mirror gloss of his wing reflects my impending death
…tomorrow, starling

A starling flew in my window
I chased it out the door
And the Jewish boy swore
We’ll have violence and war
…tomorrow, starling.

Silver Angel December 17, 1996 at 2:35 am

When I’m getting too close to the edge
My Silver Angel is in the sky.
When I’m down and ready to fall
I just look way up high.
To my love. To my life.

My Silver Angel comes down to me.
He’s just like Jesus Christ.
He is my way and he is my truth
And I’m so glad he’s in my life.

He’s like Rafael and Gabriel
Auriel and he are the same.
He’s just like the Archangel Michael,
But Stephen is his name.
He’s my love. He’s my life.

My Silver Angel shines a light
A single light, just for me
But everyone who does see it
Wishes they were me.

I know I’ll never be without him
I know he’ll never leave
I live with Jesus in the Flesh
I please him and he pleases me!
He’s my love. He’s my life.

Jesus, Stephen, Jesus, Stephen

Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, Stephen

Wildest Dream August 5, 1996 at 2:34 am

seeing you with another boy
watching you with another boy
having you with another boy.

doesn’t that feel good?
(you are speechless)

to munch on your delicacies
put truth to your fantasies
explore your morality
play with your insecurity
redefine your reality
reinforce your sincerity
test your charity
consume your rarity

I’ll follow you anywhere,
(but thanks for letting me lead)

wandering through your soul
relaxing in your hold
doing what I am told

Time November 28, 1990 at 2:30 am

Time – is it our friend or foe?
Endurance of the uneventful enigma
We are captive, shackled and waiting —
We are its prisoners
Fettered by emotions out of our grasp
Distance our constant companion
Still I am elusive to all obstacles
Knowing our souls are harmoniously entwined
I succumb to this sublime test of time
and await its haunting verdict
With a haughty certainty that
We will be triumphant. . .
Two spirits soaring far from
this oppressiveness
we call Time.

Make Your Heaven Now on Earth September 7, 1988 at 2:29 am

Attention youth
Life does slip
Out of your grip
It takes nothing
It gives nothing

(You do it all)

Listen damn it
You will benefit
From knowing that
You are contemporary
And you are temporary

(You are both)

God gave us Moses. He gave us Buddah.
He gave us Jesus. We have Mohammed.
We have the God within.

The message is the same…

Make your heaven now on Earth.
Make your heaven now on Earth.
Make your heaven now on Earth.

(For you may die tomorrow)

Pretty Poetry September 1, 1985 at 2:29 am

My ship sails upon the ocean
Though I’m not a seafaring man.
My love of the sea is a part of me
Though I’m not an amorous man.

Science is my mystery
The wonders plague my mind.
A search to find that moment in time
And the reason for it all

Yet, if I knew, it might be construed
With feelings of great fear
To the masses of lads and lasses
Spinning with me on this sphere.

Have I learned things that I shouldn’t have?
Have I really messed things up?
Is there a code of ethics to follow?
Can a poet know too much?

I must be one of the chosen few
As I pat myself on the back
It’s better than believing I’m insane and alone
In an endless void of black.

Is this man a prophet?
Is this man a freak?
My words are lost to those who seek
Just pretty poetry.

La Bufadora Speaks at 2:28 am

Inside my Mexican Stonehenge
La Bufadora speaks.
The wisdom of the ages
She speaks of war and peace.

Yet feelings of imperfection
Instill themselves in me
An unjustified imbalance
In dissonant harmonies.

She’s trying to tell me something
It’s meaningfully deep.
My ears choose not to listen
And her lips choose not to speak.

But what more can she sing about?
What’s more than life or death?
We live our lives grasping a hold
Yet we slip right into death.

I hope that she respects me
As she’s seen it all before.
I know that if I tell the truth,
She’ll love me even more.

Save me Bufadora
Offer me a choice.
Hold and inspire me,
And soothe me with your voice.
